Various issues, including the inclusion of Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) in the bill and concerns about cannibalization of land-based casinos, have prevented its progress. Unfortunately, the online casino bill in Indiana has been unable to meet a committee deadline in February 2023, and there is now no hope for its passage.

Early in January 2023, a bill for online casino legislation was introduced, but nothing has been decided yet. Online sportsbooks in Indiana need to operate under a license from a gaming facility in Indiana. Online sports betting, horse race & off-track betting and daily fantasy sports are the only legal online gambling options in Indiana.
